Beer
Handy’s Lager
Our lightest offering: good beer without all the fuss.

Kolsch
Legend has it that true Kolsch-style beer can only be brewed within sight of the enormous cathedral in Cologne, Germany; Semi-dry, light and crisp, this beer is a wonderful summertime refresher.

Daily Pils
An assertively hopped Southern German pilsner, the lighter malts provide a nice showcase for the flavor and aroma of imported Czech Saaz hops. A drier pils with a firm bitterness and characteristic hop bouquet.
Dortmunder
A golden lager both less dry and less bitter than our Pilsner, this brew fits the bill for beer drinkers looking for something simple and good. Hailing from the city of Dortmund, this style of beer is sometimes called “Export.”
Sky Pilot Kellerbier
This unfiltered continental Pilsner won a Gold Medal at The Great American Beer Festival in 2006. Our Kellerbier which literally means “cellar beer,” balances moderate bitterness and noble-type hop aroma and flavor with a malty, slightly sweet, medium body.
Maibock
A lightly colored but not so lightly made lager, this brew has many of the characteristics of traditional bock beers but is golden in color and has a more assertive bitterness.
Gose Speziell Weizen
Gose is a cross between a Belgian Wit and a Berliner Weisse. It’s brewed with half wheat malt and spiced with coriander. Gose Speziell Weizen has a definite tartness and is balanced with a nice roundness.
Tooler’s Weiss
Our popular south German-style wheat beer is light and refreshingly different. Unfiltered, it retains a full complement of yeasty haze and features strong hints of banana and clove that result naturally from fermentation.
Dunkel Weiss
This darker wheat beer pours a cloudy mahogany color and retains a thin, creamy head. With a touch of residual sweetness and the addition of subtle caramel notes, our Dunkel Weiss is very well-balanced and finishes with a refreshing, full flavored taste.
Vienna Country Lager
A lighter red lager broadly in the style of an Austrian country beer. Lightly roasted malts and sparing use of hops gives this brew a refreshingly simple palate.
Alt Bier
Our Alt Bier won a Gold Medal in 2007. It is most easily compared to a German form of pale ale. Popular around Dusseldorf, the name means simply “old” and recalls a time before Germany made primarily lagers. This beer features a high bitterness and aroma characteristic of generous additions of hops to the brew.
Red Flyer Marzen
A year-round version of our Oktoberfest Lager, tap a pair of these “ruby slippers together and say “there’s no place like Herkimer”. Fully flavored, this red lager treads the thin line between malt and hop with grace.
Oktoberfest
A stronger version of our Marzen Lager, we brew a batch or two of this each fall to commemorate the great Munich Oktoberfest. Reddish, malty and on the sweeter side.
Bock
A strong and malty brown lager brewed traditionally in spring to celebrate the coming of warmer weather. Full bodied and strong, this beer is one of the brewer’s favorites.
High Point Dunkel
As a true Munich-style Dunkel should, our High Point weighs down the glass with the full bodied, complex maltiness that only the heavy-handed use of roasted malts can imbue.

Doppelbock
Our strongest and rarest offering. At about double the alcoholic strength of our other beers, this brown lager brings to bear the full brunt of roasted malt flavors and aroma. Sweet and full bodied, this beer goes quickly when available.
Schwarz
German for “black beer”, our Schwarz is a very refreshing and soul lifting beer—a great alternative for the winter. Especially when you are looking for a “lighter” beer, but one with depth of color and taste.
Czech Pilsner
The Czech Pilsner is our newest addition to our wonderful line up of beers. It is a true Czech-style pilsner brewed with a financially irresponsible amount of Saaz hops and left to lager for weeks. It is finally filtered for a crystal clear look typical of the style.
Big Bottom Doppelsticke
Imperial Alt Bier cranked to 11 with rich fruit, roasted coffee, and dark chocolate notes. The 11% ABV and dark black color may make you say, “There’s something about this that’s so black, it’s like how much more black could this be? The answer is none. None more black.”
